About the event

Volunteer during one of our Micro Shelter Builds at St. John's Lutheran Church of Sweet Air. 

Build details:: 

Free, unrestricted parking is available on the back side of the property, follow the cones to the far parking lot. 

MASK REQUIRED.

Tempurature will be taken. 

Event registration begins at 11 am, please do not plan to arrive before 11 am unless asked. There will be a safety overview at 10:45am. All volunteers must be present for safety overview.

If possible, I'd suggest bringing these items:

-Any Power tools and generators that you may have. 

-Dress comfortably and Wear layers (during winter months)  we will be building outside in response to COVID19. 

-Safety tools and equipment- Hammer, knee pads, glasses or goggles, and gloves if possible

-(other optional supplies) Ear plugs, speed square, a water bottle, tool belt, paint brush or paint roller, and pencil

We have these things available but do not guarantee the best fit. Comfortable, well fitting layered clothing is suggested. The weather is unpredictable so please wear layers, we will be outside. Clothes should fit well to allow ease of movement yet not be baggy. Baggy clothes can get caught in machinery. Your clothes will get dirty or paint- maybe beyond repair, so wear clothes that can be ruined (glue, paint, snags), if you can. Comfortable closed toe shoes or boots. 

For the most part, we will be on our feet most of the day, feel free to bring an outdoor chair and make sure you have comfortable shoes.
