Let’s be honest: The current political climate is unsettling. Policies once designed to protect are being rolled back. Funding for essential programs is at risk. And for many communities—especially Black-led, people-powered ones—it can feel like we’re being told to shrink our dreams just to survive.
But at Smalltimore Homes, we refuse to let fear dictate our future.
We’re not here to manage scarcity. We’re here to build abundance—together.
🌍 Why Resisting Scarcity Is a Radical First Step
A scarcity mindset whispers: “There’s not enough to go around.”
It pits nonprofits against each other. It tells communities to accept crumbs. It discourages vision in the face of political and economic uncertainty.
But history shows us: abundance has always been rooted in community. From mutual aid societies to land cooperatives, our people have survived and thrived through collective care and imagination—not by waiting on trickle-down promises.
We believe that even in lean times, there is enough wisdom, skill, spirit, and solidarity to build what we need.
