Rough Sleep LOCKOUT #WhatIsHome?
Time & Location
About the Event
We are raising awareness for homelessness through our #WhatIsHome campaign.
From 7 pm Saturday, November 14th - 7 am Sunday November 15thS
Stay tuned for our Socail Media Go-Live Schedule to join us virtually if you cannot make it.
The difference between rough sleeping and homelessness is that it is possible to be homeless, but not be rough sleeping. For example, someone can be homeless if they are staying in temporary accommodation, but they are not rough sleeping as they do have a proper roof over their head at night.
We will have a 12-hour Lockout Tent village night on our campus to raise awareness on homelessness. All ages are invited to register for this event as family or as individuals. If you don’t have a tent, we will be collecting boxes for use as shelter. Even for only 12 hours, it is a powerful way to generate understanding of the challenges for those experiencing homelessness.
In addition to the shelter demonstation, a shelter suit will also be on display and is a great gift to purchase for someone experiencing homelessness. Together, Let's end homelessness.
